Derby have signed midfielder Ben Pringle from Ilkeston Town for an undisclosed fee on a one-year deal.
The former West Bromwich Albion trainee, 20, helped the Robins gain promotion from the Unibond League to the Blue Square North last season.
Pringle will be part of the Rams development squad set-up to bridge the gap between the academy and first-team.
County boss Nigel Clough told the club's website: "Obviously we had one eye on the future when we signed Ben."
