Derby County on-loan midfielder Andrejs Pereplotkins has returned to his parent club Skonto FC by mutual consent.

The 24-year-old Latvian winger was on a season-long loan, which has now been cancelled by both clubs.

New Derby manager Nigel Clough has said he wants to trim players from the large squad at Pride Park.

Rams chairman Adam Pearson told BBC Radio Derby: "We have to move half a dozen players out, but only if they want to and if the moves are right."

Pearson added: "The club [Skonto] were keen to have him back, Andrejs was keen to play some football and we're trying to reduce numbers, so it fitted in with everybody."
