Jewell says he has not made an approach for Wayne Brown

Derby County manager Paul Jewell has dismissed rumours linking Hull City defender Wayne Brown to the club.

Jewell told BBC Radio Derby: "I didn't even see it [the rumour], somebody else told me about it but no, I haven't made any inquiry to him or to Hull."

It is now thought the Rams will not enter the loan market for any short-term deals to replace injured defender Martin Albrechtsen.

The 28-year-old was sidelined for at least a month after a hernia operation.
