Carroll has impressed since arriving from Rangers |
Derby goalkeeper Roy Carroll has agreed in principle a three-year deal to stay at the Pride Park club after impressing during a short-term stay at the club. The Northern Ireland international, 30, arrived from Rangers in January and boss Paul Jewell has been sufficiently impressed to want to keep him longer.
"He looks the part because he's played at the top level. Nothing fazes him," said Jewell.
"It's vital to not just have experience in goal, but quality. He's shown that."

Former Manchester United player Carroll joined Rangers last summer from West Ham, but only made one appearance for the Glasgow club.
"At the age of 30, which is a terrific age for a goalkeeper, he has a lot of time ahead of him," added Jewell.
"You look at David James who is 37, yet he is the best in the country, so there is a lot to come from Roy."
