Darlington chairman Raj Singh has promised supporters he will guarantee the future of the club if 2,000 season tickets are committed for 2011/12.

The Quakers holding company, 75% owned by Singh, owns the stadium but is currently in receivership facing a loan repayment sum of £1.7m.

"I'm prepared to continue to keep football in Darlington, if you are prepared to support me," Singh said.

"I need convincing there are more than 1,600 fans out there."

Singh added: "This club can't exist on those figures.

"If you look at the attendances of the other clubs we're competing with and that shows what we're up against, so this club needs you [the fans] now more than ever, and that is quite literally.

"We need to know there is a desire in Darlington for a football club. We're prepared to continue, but not on my own, we must do this together."

The club maintain that no payment will be taken for the tickets until June, and that all that is required from supporters is a commitment to buy.

Darlington's current average home attendance is 1,826, with the capacity capped at 10,000 due to safety certificate reasons.
