Darlington have signed full-back Richie Byrne, who has been without a club since being released by Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer.
The one-time Republic of Ireland B player, 28, spent time on loan with St Johnstone last season prior to his departure from Caley Thistle.
Byrne began his career with Shamrock Rovers before spells with Dunfermline, Aberdeen and Oldham Athletic.
He goes straight into the Quakers side for Saturday's visit of Rotherham.
During his spell with Dunfermline, Byrne reached the 2004 Scottish Cup final before losing 3-1 to Celtic at Hampden Park.
