Darlington defender Steve Foster says it has been difficult to come to terms with seeing the club struggling in League Two this season.
Foster, 29, led the Quakers to the League Two play-offs in 2007/08 while last year's bid was ended by a points penalty for entering administration.
"The last couple of years we've been up there," Foster told BBC Tees.
"Things change and we know what's gone on. It might take time to turn it around but we're capable of that."

Former manager Dave Penney signed Foster to boost his promotion push in May 2007, having managed him previously at Doncaster.
He has since made 94 appearances for the Quakers, scoring three goals, and is one of just two players to remain from last season's squad.
