Spiller has struggled with injury for the past two seasons
Dagenham and Redbridge have signed former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller until January.
Spiller, 28, spent eight years with the Gills before joining Millwall in 2007, but was released last summer after playing just eight times for the Lions.
He has been added straight to the squad for Saturday's League Two match at home to Chesterfield.
"Over the next few months we could see a very exciting player for us," manager John Still told BBC Essex.
"He quite rightly feels that he's fit enough to show people at a higher level that he's still good enough."
Meanwhile, Hayes & Yeading midfielder Will Hendry is training with the League Two side but they have yet to make a decision on whether to offer him a contract.
