Dagenham & Redbridge could sue for compensation after Monday's power cut which caused the home match with Brentford to be postponed.
The League Two promotion-chasers estimate the loss of TV revenue has cost them up to £50,000 after a local sub-station developed a fault.
Club finance secretary Steve Thompson told BBC Essex: "I was nearly in tears.
"We struggled to actually talk to anyone at the power supplier and we can't afford to lose £50,000."
Power suppliers EDF Energy said in a statement: "We encourage customers who rely on power for essential business or commercial reasons to arrange for back-up supplies."
The Daggers do not have a back-up system but they are annoyed they struggled to speak to anyone at EDF until much later in the evening, instead having to listen to a recorded message.
Thompson said: "We have had the Football League on to us wanting proof we can guarantee our electricity supply but it is difficult when you are dealing with companies like this.
"I have sympathy with anyone who has had problems with a utility company and we are awaiting a full report before deciding whether to take this further."
It is the second power cut at Victoria Road this season as an unrelated incident saw a game against Exeter in December abandoned at half-time.
