Strevens happy to remain a Dagger

Dagenham & Redbridge striker Ben Strevens has said he is delighted to still be with the League Two side.

The 28-year-old had been the subject of interest from other clubs during the transfer window, but told BBC Essex he was glad the speculation had ended.

"I never said I wanted to leave, but said 'if they want to sell me, then sell me', but if they want me to stay I'll be more than happy to," he said.

"They've turned the bid down and I couldn't be more happier."

"To be honest, it did unsettle me for a couple of games and my form hasn't been great in the last two or three games," he added.

"It's been hanging over my head for a bit, so I'm just happy the January transfer window is out of the way and I can get on with the rest of my season now."

Strevens is contracted to stay at Victoria Road until the end of the season, when he would be able to leave on a free transfer.
