Benson is the Daggers top scorer this season with 12 goals
Dagenham & Redbridge striker Paul Benson fears their season could be damaged by January's transfer window.
Benson expects the spotlight to be on the club's best players following their impressive season in League Two.
"This group of players are playing really well and I'd be very surprised if the gaffer doesn't have offers on his table," he told BBC Essex.
"Sometimes you can't do anything but accept them, but I hope we can keep the team together."
In their second season of league football, John Still's men are just two points adrift of a play-off place and have the league's best goal difference.
But top scorer Benson admitted the club are in a difficult position in trying to do what is best for the club, but also for the players.
"I understand that if they're doing well, then players deserve to be playing at a higher level," he added.
"I also understand the club are may be dependent on transfer fees, so I wouldn't wish someone to not get a move, I hope these boys can get as high as they possibly can.
"I just think we've got a good thing going this season and I'd like us to have our best players still in the side.
"But the gaffer's wise - he won't sell anyone unless he knows someone else can come in and do their job, so there's that as well, so let's just what happens in January."
