Warnock signed Craig Beattie on loan in September last year
Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock says he has not approached West Brom about a move for striker Craig Beattie.
The Scottish international had a 15-match spell on loan at Selhurst Park last season, and Warnock has admitted he is in the market for a new forward.
But he confirmed to BBC London: "I've not actually spoken to West Brom or Craig since the start of pre-season.
"Obviously he's one that we know about, but we're looking at a number of options and hopefully we can get one."
Beattie scored five times during his two-and-a-half month stay at Selhurst Park, and also spent time on loan to Sheffield United in the second half of the campaign.
We've got to stick at it and I'm sure we'll be able to give anyone a good game

But he struggled to break into the first-team at West Brom, whose former manager Tony Mowbray has since moved to Celtic.
Warnock admits the Eagles have struggled in their attempts so far to bring in a front man.
"It's very difficult at the moment in the climate to pick a 'Bosman' up that can score goals in the Championship.
"It's like conjuring up something from a hat, but we've got to do that.
"We've got to stick at it and I'm sure we'll be able to give anyone a good game."
