Crewe manager Dario Gradi happy to see strikers improve

Gradi's Crewe are seventh in League 2 after an 11 game unbeaten run

Crewe boss Dario Gradi is pleased with the form of his strikers Clayton Donaldson and Joel Grant.

Donaldson, 26 has five league goals this season while Grant, 23, scored in the 3-1 win over Aldershot on Saturday.

The improvement comes after Gradi criticised his strikers' ability to convert chances earlier this season.

"Clayton and Joel combine ever so well in training and they do some good combinations in games," Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke.

Gradi has also been happy with the impact made by the likes of Shaun Miller and Byron Moore since he issued his demand for more goals.

Moore, 22, has two goals from four starts, while Miller, also 22, has hit the net six times in 13 appearances.

"Shaun comes on and adds real life and threat and I'm glad Byron's come in and had an impact.

"The young boys continue to go on, they just get better.

"Murph (Luke Murphy), Westy (Ashley Westwood) and Matt Tootle fall into that category too and (Mat) Mitchel-King is involved," he added.
