Crewe manager Dario Gradi responds to fan criticism
Dario Gradi sees reasons for optimism for Crewe fans
Crewe boss Dario Gradi says he understands that not all of the club's fans are fully behind him as manager.
Pressure had been building on Gradi after a poor start to the season but Saturday's 7-0 win over Barnet relieved much of the tension.
"I knew last season I wasn't everyone's cup of tea and that we hadn't done very well," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We've given the fans two good performances at home and we've got to keep on doing that."
Gradi, 69, felt he had improved the team over the summer and, after picking up their first points of the season, he feels that there is cause for optimism.
"We haven't done a great deal this year but I think we have improved the team with the slight changes that we've made," he said.
The players are working hard, they're with me and I'm with them

"It's not good for the players for the supporters not to be behind them," he said.
"The players are working hard, they're with me and I'm with them. That's more important than any of us being with the supporters. We've got to be together and we are.
"If people can stay free of injuries and people like Ajay [Leitch-Smith], Byron [Moore] and Murph [Luke Murphy] can come on then we've got a chance of doing something," he added.
Crewe entertain Ipswich in the second round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
