Davis said it was the right decision to postpone the match against Torquay
Crewe have no problems with training in the adverse weather conditions because of their good facilities, according to assistant manager Steve Davis.
Crewe's game with Torquay on Saturday was postponed around three hours before kick-off because of a frozen pitch.
"We've got a dome which isn't affected by the frost," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We're very fortunate, we're in a great position and getting the facilities right was something that Dario [Gradi] was forthright in doing very early."
He added: "We put the covers on the pitch on Thursday, but when we turned up the referee was looking at the pitch.
"He said it was dangerous in front of the main stand. Some bits were soft, some were hard, so he decided to call it off.
"But we did all we could in our power to get the game on, so we're disappointed."
