Adams' side are scheduled to face Burton at Vale Park on Boxing Day

Port Vale have asked Stoke City for the use of their indoor training facilities to help them beat the adverse weather conditions in Staffordshire.

"We're not gifted with fantastic training facilities so we're going to have to beg," Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We've put a call in to Stoke to see if we can use their dome at some stage.

"Nantwich Town is a possibility too for us, but it's going to be very difficult to keep the players going."

Vale's game against Chesterfield on Saturday was postponed around five hours before kick-off because of a frozen pitch.

"We're all disappointed because you prepare your team all week for a game on Saturday but the referee made the correct decision," said Adams.

"With the low temperatures that got underneath the covers, I think it was an easy decision for the referee."

Rochdale's home game against Shrewsbury was the only League Two fixture to survive on Saturday.

Weather permitting, Vale take on Burton Albion at Vale Park on Boxing Day.
