Crewe Alexandra winger Joel Grant will go far - Gradi
Crewe winger Joel Grant joined the Alex from Aldershot in June 2008
Crewe Alexandra winger Joel Grant has the potential to play in the Championship, according to caretaker manager Dario Gradi.
The 22-year-old scored for the sixth time this season in the 2-1 at Barnet as Crewe ended the Bees' unbeaten record at Underhill.
Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "If I was a Championship manager, I'd be looking at him and saying he would cause problems.
"He's got six goals so far but he could easily have had double that."
Grant, who signed for Crewe from Aldershot in June 2008 for £130,000, has shown glimpses of his talent, but also struggled to produce a consistent run of performances under previous manager Gudjon Thordarson.
Clayton Donaldson, who scored the winner against Barnet, agreed that Grant is performing well at the moment.
"Joel's got all the ability in the world, it's just about getting that consistency," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Once you get a run of games you'll always improve. He's showing that and he's getting the goals to show for it as well this season."
