Donaldson has scored seven goals for Crewe Alexandra this season
Crewe Alexandra striker Clayton Donaldson believes they have found new belief under manager Gudjon Thordarson.
The Icelander took charge on Christmas Eve and has led the Alex to 26 points from his first 14 matches in charge.
Donaldson told BBC Radio Stoke: "You can tell when he walks in, everyone goes quiet. If he wants something, you know he's going to get it.
"He's got the discipline and encouragement of the team and everyone just wants to play for him."
Donaldson was signed by former manager Steve Holland from Scottish club Hibernian in August 2008.
He struggled to find his feet at the League One club, taking 13 games to open his scoring account for the Alex.
Since Thordarson's arrival, Donaldson has scored four times and been a regular in the starting line-up.
Crewe have moved up from 24th to 18th position in League One under Thordarson.
They face three of the top six teams in the division within seven days, starting with a home game against Leeds United on Saturday (21 March, 1500 GMT).
