Broomes and Ruddy initially joined Crewe in January
Crewe have extended the loan spell of Blackpool defender Marlon Broomes and are close to a deal for Everton keeper John Ruddy until the end of the season.
However, both will be unable to play in Crewe's final game against Leicester.
Football League rules state that players can not stay on loan at one club for more than 93 days.
Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "They've done well for us, they're improving with the team and we're more healthy defensively."
Both men moved to the Alexandra Stadium in January, with Broomes having made five appearances for the Railwaymen and Ruddy featuring in four games.
The 22-year-old former Cambridge keeper said he would be happy to extend his stay in South Cheshire.
"It's good for me," said Ruddy. "We've got a lot of games coming up in quick succession and so hopefully now we can push on."
