Accrington 2-0 Port Vale

Goals from Andy Proctor and Jimmy Ryan gave relegation-threatened Accrington a much-needed victory at Port Vale.

Proctor had given the home side an early lead when he headed home a cross from John Miles.

Ryan secured the points when he got himself on the end of a well-worked corner to smash the ball home.

Proctor had another good headed chance but put it wide whilst for Vale, Louis Dodds forced a superb save from Stanley keeper Kenny Arthur with a neat volley.
