Crewe winger Colin Daniel has said he is now focused on League One survival after overcoming a personal tragedy.
The 21-year-old recently missed the defeat at Leyton Orient to attend a funeral of an ex-team mate.
Teenager Liam Munn died last month after being attacked outside a nightclub in Nottingham.
Daniel told BBC Radio Stoke: "I grew up with him - it's been a hard time. The manager has helped me a lot and given me time to get over it."
He continued: "It's life and you need to get on with it."
Crewe's next game is at home to Huddersfield on Saturday as they look to win an important three points in their battle against relegation to League Two.
