Protesting will not help - Glover

Dean Glover
Glover faced irate fans outside Vale Park after the defeat by Luton

Port Vale manager Dean Glover has urged supporters to get behind the team, as he says protesting will not help him turn around their results on the pitch.

A section of the home crowd stayed outside Vale Park after Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Luton, asking for the removal of Glover and the board of directors.

Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "You try and answer people's questions, but they shout you down so you have no chance.

"People are frustrated but it's not doing the team any good."

Glover added: "There's no money, the board are working as hard as they can to turn it around, but there's no patience from anybody and those are the reactions we're getting.

"It will take time, but people want success here and now. We just need some results, then we can move on as a group and pull together.

"But while things are happening as they are, it doesn't make it any easier for anybody."

Vale have not gone more than two games without being beaten this season.

Glover's side have two away games at Accrington Stanley and Bournemouth, before their next match at Vale Park, when Dagenham and Redbridge are the visitors.
