Crewe's teenage midfielder Danny Shelley has signed a professional contract at the Alexandra Stadium.

The 18-year-old, who is a graduate of the Crewe Academy, will remain with the League One side until at least the summer of 2009.

Shelley made his first-team debut for the Railwaymen in the 4-1 win over Hartlepool in December.

He scored his first senior goal in the 2-2 FA Cup third round draw with Millwall at the New Den.
