Crewe need consistency says Zola

Crewe striker Calvin Zola has said the Alex side is full of ability, but they need to be more consistent.

The Railwaymen have endured a tough start to the season, taking just seven points from their opening games and slumping to 22nd in League One.

Zola told BBC Radio Stoke: "We've got a young squad and young players are always likely to be inconsistent.

"Consistency comes with experience and experience comes from playing games, so our experience is growing."

The 23-year-old has scored three goals for Crewe since his 200,000 move from Tranmere Rovers, but has not found the net in his last four games.

"I always want to score, not just for myself, but for the team," said Zola.

"If I don't score but the teams wins then I will always be happy."
