Crewe have completed the signing of versatile Burton Albion defender John Brayford for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at the Pirelli Stadium, has agreed a three-year contract with the League One club.

Brayford, who can play at both full-back and centre-half, made his first-team debut for the Brewers in a 1-0 win over Ebbsfleet United in April 2006.

In all he scored seven goals in 78 appearances for the non-league side.
