Crewe Alexandra have offered a trial to former Royal Antwerp central defender Bobsam Elejiko.
The 26-year-old Nigerian was recently on trial with League Two side Gillingham, but has turned down a contract at Priestfield.
Crewe first-team coach Steve Holland told BBC Radio Stoke: "We've been looking to take on a centre-back."
"We want a player that will go into our first team and improve it straight away, that's always difficult to find."
