Facey was put on the transfer list by Stimson at the end of last season

Gillingham have released Delroy Facey from his contract by mutual consent.

The 28-year-old striker, who scored just three goals in 34 appearances for the Gills last season, is set to sign for League Two rivals Notts County.

Gills boss Mark Stimson told the club website: "With the arrival of Mark McCammon, I couldn't guarantee Delroy first-team football."

Meanwhile, trialist Bobsam Elejiko has returned to Belgium after failing to agree terms on a move to Priestfield.

Stimson was keen to arrange a short-term deal with the Royal Antwerp defender but will now pursue other options.

The Gills boss remains hopeful of signing fellow trialist Tyrone Berry on a short-term contract after the winger impressed in the club's friendly against Thurrock.
