Crawley have signed Colchester defender Tom Eastman on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old centre-back has made one appearance for the U's following a summer move from Ipswich.
Reds boss Steve Evans told the club website: "Given our short-term injury crisis it was important we brought a central defender in.
"Tom is a big lad and a natural defender. He is also someone who can come out of defence with the ball and play, which was important to us."
Crawley defenders Pablo Mills, John Dempster and Kyle McFadzean are all currently on the sidelines and they lost 6-0 to Morecambe on Saturday.
Eastman could make his debut on Tuesday night against Swindon Town.
