Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling has hinted his side are closing in on an outcome to the Paul Lambert tribunal.
Lambert was Colchester manager before leaving for Norwich in August 2009. The U's reported their rivals over the affair for a breach in regulations.
Cowling told BBC Essex: "A decision has been reached on part of it. At the moment we don't have permission to disclose what the decision is.
"However, Colchester United want it to be made public."
