Colchester United and Norwich City are now waiting for a decision from the Football League after attending a tribunal over Paul Lambert.
Manager Lambert and assistants Ian Culverhouse and Gray Karsa left the U's for Carrow Road in August.
Colchester reported their League One rivals over the affair for misconduct and a breach in regulations.
A disciplinary commission are now considering their verdict, which could take weeks to reach.
The clubs have met to discuss compensation but have been unable to reach an agreement.
Since then Norwich have gone on to win the League One title, while Colchester missed out on a top-six finish.
