Colchester United manager Aidy Boothroyd has refused to comment on Ipswich Town's handling of Kevin Lisbie's loan deal at the U's.
Town boss Roy Keane has said that he intends to recall the striker in January so he can sell him.
Lisbie, 31, claims he knew nothing about Keane's intentions and only found out through media coverage.
Boothroyd told BBC Essex: "I wouldn't be representing the union correctly if I said what I thought, so I won't."
"At the end of the day, Kevin Lisbie is Ipswich's player and whatever they decide to do, they will do."
Lisbie has scored six times in 14 appearances in his loan spell with Colchester.
