Colchester United have signed striker Kevin Lisbie on a season-long loan.
The Ipswich forward returns to Colchester only one year after leaving the club to move to Portman Road.
Lisbie's loan deal includes a clause which also makes him available for any play-off matches involving Colchester at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old originally joined Colchester from Charlton in August 2007 and scored 17 league goals in the 2007/08 campaign.
Lisbie told BBC Essex: "This is the perfect place for me to come back to. There were other options but this is the right place for me.
"Once I knew Colchester were in for me, it all happened quickly as I knew the people here and I wanted it sorted out as soon as possible.
"It is nice to come back to a new stadium and hopefully I will score some goals here.
"I cannot see why this team cannot get promoted to the Championship this season."
