Colchester boss Paul Lambert says he will make loanee Ashley Vincent's move from Cheltenham permanent this summer.
The 23-year-old forward joined the U's in March and has made four appearances after recovering from an injury.
Lambert told BBC Essex: "I think Ashley can be a really good player and has a great career in front of him.
"He's got the enthusiasm and hunger and he'll be a big player for us next season. He's got pace, and when you've got that you've always got a chance."
Vincent started his career with Wolves before joining Cheltenham in 2004.
