Colchester United manager Paul Lambert has indicated big changes are likely in his squad during the close season.
Lambert told BBC Essex he had a "fair idea" about the players he wanted to get rid of and those he wanted to sign.
"I'm not here to appease people, I'm here to try to make this club successful," he said.
"We're trying at the minute to get guys in. [Chairman] Robbie Cowling has been terrific. It's unbelievable what he's done for the club."
The U's lost 1-0 at home to Brighton on Easter Monday, prompting their fans to boo the team.
Lambert told BBC Essex: "If I was a fan who came to watch that on Monday afternoon, I would have had the same reaction.
"The last two seasons have proved we've not been good enough and that's the bottom line.
"People see success as getting a three-year contract nowadays in modern football - it's not, it's about winning something."
