Maybury spent the end of last season on loan at Aberdeen

Colchester United have signed Irish defender Alan Maybury on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since leaving Leicester in May and has been on trial with the U's for the past three weeks.

Maybury is expected to go straight into the squad for the trip to his former club Leeds United on Saturday.

The full-back, who has been capped at international level by the Republic of Ireland, has also played for Hearts.
