Goals from Ben Strevens and Paul Benson saw Dagenham & Redbridge move into the play-off places with a win over promotion rivals Gillingham.
Strevens struck after just 18 seconds, prodding the ball in off the post after good work by his strike partner Benson.
Five minutes after the break the hosts got their second when Benson drove home from the corner of the area.
It could have been 3-0 but Benson hit the side-netting, while Gillingham sub Gary Mulligan came close late on.
