Yeates scored his third goal of the season against Tranmere
Colchester United forward Mark Yeates believes the side have shown they have 'got the bottle' to move up the league.
Yeates scored in Colchester's 4-3 win over Tranmere on Friday to move them out of the bottom three of League One.
Yeates told BBC Essex: "We went out there, showed a lot of bottle and with the way things have gone [recently] we've played some good football.
"People got on the ball and showed bottle and that's what it's going to take to get out of this league."
The victory at Prenton Park was only the second win of the season for the U's and came at the end of a week which saw the departure of manager Geraint Williams.
It was a good result and we've got to look forward

Yeates admitted the three points came as a timely boost for the players.
"[The previous] Saturday was hard and there was a lot of stick flying about from everyone and we weren't happy, we knew we weren't doing the business," he said.
"But it was a good result and we've got to look forward."
