Barnard has bagged for goals for the Blues this season

Southend United striker Lee Barnard has said he believes his side are starting to realise their potential.

The Blues have claimed four wins in a row to climb to seventh in League One and Barnard told BBC Essex they are confident of having a good season.

"We're looking good but we want to build on that and get even higher.

"We've had a lot of new faces come in to the club so it was going to take time for everyone to gel and it's now coming together nicely."

The Blues will look to make it five wins on the bounce against Stockport on Saturday.
