Chesterfield have completed the signing of former Nottingham Forest defender Ian Breckin on a two-year deal.
Breckin, 33, returns to Saltergate where he spent five years between 1997 and 2002, after a four-year stint at the City Ground.
"I had some offers but Chesterfield was the one that appealed to me most," Breckin told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I spent five great years here, through some ups and downs, and sometimes it's hard not to come back."
He added: "I know the fans are loyal and they want success and let's hope we can bring it to them.

"It was nice to come back at play in the last season at Saltergate."
Chesterfield have agreed a deal to re-sign former Nottingham Forest defender Ian Breckin.
Breckin, who turned down a move to League Two rivals Burton Albion, becomes John Sheridan's first signing since taking over as manager.
The former Forest skipper was put up for sale at the City Ground in December.
