Montrose should be fit to face Bradford in the final game of the season
Chesterfield have agreed a deal in principle to sign midfielder Lewis Montrose from Wigan Athletic on a permanent basis in the summer.
The 20-year-old loanee is due to return to the club next week after recovering from a knee injury.
"We've got an agreement in principle to sign him (Montrose) so we are hopeful of finalising a deal," manager Lee Richardson told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"We are hopeful that deal will be a permanent one."
Richardson added: "We are hopeful Lewis will be training with us next week so he should be available for the final match of the season against Bradford City.
"He has done well. We think he's a player with good potential."
