Manchester City defender Clayton McDonald has joined League Two side Chesterfield on a one-month loan deal.
The deal to take the 20-year-old to Saltergate was completed with one minute to spare before Monday's 1700 GMT transfer deadline.
A product of the academy at Eastlands, McDonald is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League club.
He is in line to make his debut for the Spireites in Saturday's league clash at home to Lincoln City.
