Chesterfield have signed former Sheffield United and England schoolboy international Lee Askham on a short-term deal.
The 18-year-old free agent played for the Blades reserves before being released earlier in the year.
Striker Jordan Bowery, 17, is returning to the squad after impressing in the Spireites youth team.
Chesterfield have released striker Val Teixeira, who is currently out of the squad with sinusitis.
Askham has signed a one-month contract with the League Two side.
