Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson says he is determined to keep striker Jamie Ward at Saltergate.

The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals for the Spireites last season, has been linked with moves to Northampton, MK Dons, Colchester and Scunthorpe.

But Richardson told the club website: "The fact is Jamie is contracted to stay here until the end of next season.

"I will be looking to extend that at some point in the coming season. We are certainly not looking to sell."
