Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring problem in Saturday's 3-0 win over Port Vale. The 20-year-old former Torquay man limped off just minutes after scoring his first goal for his new club.
"Football can be cruel at times - Jamie has experienced the highs and lows within the space of a few minutes," assistant boss Lee Richardson said.
"He was a thorn in Port Vale's side, but that's the nature of football."
