Captain Peter Leven is to leave Chesterfield after agreeing a one-year contract with Milton Keynes Dons.

The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a pre-contract deal and will move to the League Two champions on 1 July.

Leven joined the Spireites on a free transfer from Scottish side Kilmarnock and scored five goals in 45 appearances last season.

He rejected a new contract offer from Chesterfield and becomes Dons boss Paul Ince's first summer signing.
