Blue Square Premier bottom club Chester City have signed Barnsley striker Michael Coulson on a month's loan.
Jim Harvey's side have also completed a deal to bring in young Blackburn Rovers reserve defender Johnny Flynn on a similar loan deal.
City, 24 points adrift of safety, are without suspended duo Nick Chadwick and Glenn Rule for the next three games.
And striker Coulson, 22, and teenage Irish stopper Flynn, 19, have been brought in to plug the gap.
New Chester chairman Ian Anderson said: "We have completed the signing of Michael Coulson from Barnsley.
"And we completed the loan transfer of Jonathan Flynn from Blackburn Rovers on Friday."
But City did not go ahead with the planned signing of another Rovers youngster, winger Andy Hayworth.
Following the return of Mark Beesley to the Deva Stadium last week, that takes new City boss Jim Harvey's signings to three in the 10 days since his appointment on 6 October.
Coulson and Flynn are in contention for Saturday's trip to Gateshead, when away draw specialists City will be looking to extend their six-game unbeaten record on the road.
