Chester City have completed the signing of former Manchester United defender Michael Lea from Scunthorpe United.
It is understood the 21-year-old, who has spent time on loan at Belgian club Royal Antwerp, has signed a two-year contract at the Deva Stadium.
City manager Mick Wadsworth told BBC Radio Merseyside he expects Lea to help him tighten things up at the back.
"Michael is another quality player with a wealth of experience. He will be a great addition to our squad," he said.
Lea spent just a year at Scunthorpe, playing just three times in cup competitions, and he was not offered a new deal.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Uruguayan attacking-midfielder Fabian Yontorno will undergo a medical with a view to joining Chester over the weekend.
The free agent played under Wadsworth at Gretna in the Scottish Premier League before moving onto Hibernian last season.
