Chester wait on potential buyers

Chester City

Up-for-sale Chester City are set to find out this Thursday just how many prospective buyers are keen on taking over from owner Stephen Vaughan.

The administrators running the club's day-to-day affairs, Skelmersdale-based Refresh Recovery, will hold a meeting at the Deva Stadium on 11 June.

City's financial position will be revealed to creditors and shareholders.

They will also discover how many bids have been received for City, who last month entered voluntary administration.

Chester then face their next big off-field date on Saturday week (13 June) when the Football Conference hold their annual general meeting.

Following City's relegation from the Football League and subsequent entry into administration, they expect to officially be accepted into the Blue Square Premier.

And it is understood that the financially impoverished club will start under the extra handicap of a 10-point penalty.
