Chester City midfielder David Mannix has called in the authorities following an alleged training ground incident with an unnamed team mate.
The former Liverpool trainee, 23, was left with a fractured cheekbone following an incident which is believed to have taken place last month.
Mannix joined Chester from Accrington Stanley during the summer.
He has made just two appearances since arriving at the Deva, the last of which came against Leeds in August.
Meanwhile, Tony Dinning has been banned for three matches following his red card in the 1-0 defeat at AFC Bournemouth last Saturday.
Dinning's suspension starts for Saturday's home date with Notts County, when Kevin Ellison is due to return after his own three-game ban.
