Chester deserved better - Wright

Chester City

Chester City manager Mark Wright felt his players' effort deserved more than the 1-0 defeat they suffered at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Substitute Darren Anderton scored in his final game in English football following Tony Dinning's dismissal for elbowing Danny Hollands.

"I don't think we deserved to come away with nothing. We deserved a draw," Wright told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"The sending off was the biggest turning point of the game."

Wright, who is suffering from a lack of fire-power after just three goals in six games, is keen to enter the transfer market in January. But his hands have become tied since owner Stephen Vaughan's decision last month to try and sell the club.

"We have lots of players in our heads," said Wright. "But Stephen Vaughan has put the club up for sale.

"If someone comes in then obviously he'll sell and then we have to regroup and see what happens.

"One thing's for sure, I think we need a couple of strikers that can change a game and make things happen for us."
